Limitless RPG

Tired of TTRPGs that bury your story under pages of rules?
Limitless lets you skip the grind and jump straight into play—Your Story, Your Way. Player-driven mechanics put the power in YOUR hands, providing the freedom to create ANYTHING and the tools to make it work.

Why Limitless Stands Apart

Limitless Empowers your table to create any story, with the freedom to start fast, the structure to stay balanced, and none of the page-heavy baggage.

Effortless Onboarding, Limitless Depth

A three step "onboarding" system eases newcomers in step-by-step—page light, and jargon limited—while letting seasoned players dial up layers of complexity whenever they're ready. Learn the basics in minutes, then expand at your own pace!

Tested and proven: Players can go from rules to roleplay in 30 minutes or less!

Player-Powered Rulecraft

In Limitless, your table decides what characters are capable of. Player judgment drives outcomes, while the system provides structure, not limits. "Rules" are treated as flexible mechanics; creative tools you can bend, remix, or invent to suit any narrative beat. Built-in resources and clear guidelines support fair, consistent rulings without bogging you down in a rigid, page-after-page rulebook. The rules are a springboard, not a straightjacket.

Structure when you need it, Freedom when you don't.

Your Story, Your Way
No Headache

Limitless trades rigid systems for player-focused creative freedom. Build characters with exactly the abilities you imagine—by creating from scratch, or by selecting and tweaking premade ideas. Adapt mechanics to fit any genre or tone, from gritty sci-fi to whimsical fantasy. With resource-based balance and player-driven outcomes, you can customize freely without breaking the game. You're in control—and it all just works!

Classless. Genreless. Limitless.

Core Mechanics That Empower Play

Limitless strikes a unique balance between narrative freedom and satisfying mechanical depth—bridging the gap between rules-light one-pagers and sprawling rulebooks. At its heart is a flexible percentage-based system that supports degrees of success and failure, encouraging creativity over binary outcomes. Balance comes not from rigid rules, but from meaningful descriptions and player resources that are used to shape the story. Combat is fast, collaborative, and turnless freeing players from initiative order to create cinematic, story-driven encounters together. Instead of restricting what's possible, the rules act as a shared framework that empowers players and GMs to shape outcomes together, with fairness and flair.

Percentages that Empower

Limitless features a percentage-based system focused on degrees of success and failure, rather than a binary pass/fail—creating space for creativity without forcing it. This approach encourages GMs and players to collaborate on or negotiate partial outcomes that enhance the story, inspire player engagement, and build a more dynamic, narrative-driven experience, even when numbers are involved. The more clearly and creatively a player describes their action, the more narrative space there is for partial successes, compromises, or unexpected advantages. GMs aren't required to accept or offer partial outcomes, but the system is designed to make them a natural, optional tool for deepening the fiction and encouraging players to interact with each other and be active participants in shaping both their actions and their consequences.

Example: You miss an attack by just 5%. The GM doesn't offer a partial outcome, but you suggest that the near miss could still result in physical contact. The GM agrees, and you propose using that negotiated touch to cast a spell that requires physical contact. The GM allows it… But only if you spend extra "player resources" to do it immediately, otherwise you'll have to wait until the next Moment to cast the spell without additional cost.

Narrative Resources

Limitless features percentage-based resources—Will and Strain—designed to work seamlessly with dice rolls and enhance storytelling rather than limit it. These resources let players boost rolls, power custom abilities, and negotiate bold narrative twists with the GM in real time. Rather than impose hard limits, they act as flexible guideposts, empowering the players to scale the cost of their power to match the tone and stakes of their story. This system pairs with a unique health mechanic that builds up over time, representing the mounting toll of battle rather than a countdown to unconsciousness. In Limitless, health isn't just "how close you are to sitting out"—it's a narrative tool that reflects wear, tension, and rising danger, encouraging players to embody their injuries in the story and allowing them to stay in the action even when critically injured. These mechanics provide balance while encouraging players to treat their resources not as barriers, but as creative instruments—meant to be spent, pushed, and woven directly into the story.

Collaborative, Turnless Combat

The Limitless combat system is built to feel like a natural extension of roleplay—fast, fluid, and immersive. It eliminates the long pauses of traditional turn order, replacing them with a collaborative, time-based system that focuses on the speed of actions rather than strict sequencing. Combat begins when the GM "sets the scene," describing NPC intentions and opening the floor for players to respond. Players act simultaneously, strategizing together—or not—combining actions, spending resources to gain priority, and shaping outcomes through vivid description. The system encourages creativity and cooperation without sacrificing mechanical depth: resource management, and action speed become tactical layers, letting players decide when to press for an edge and when to take risks. However, GMs can react to player actions, adapting their plans to keep players on their toes. With no waiting and no artificial separation between combat and roleplay, Limitless keeps every moment alive with possibility.

Kaladar: A World on the Brink

Kaladar is a magic-rich, war-torn world divided by ancient racial lines: the "civilized" city-dwellers, the "monstrous" and nomadic semi-human tribes, and the Kanzinaarii—beasts mutated into sentience by Kaladar's overwhelming natural magic. However, when an extra-dimensional Entity arrives to consume the world, a desperate and reluctant alliance gives birth to a powerful magical barrier to hold it back.

At the base of the tallest mountain, a city built by dragons has become home to all races and the heart of the barrier's power. But the barrier didn't just shut out the Entity—it silenced the gods who once touched this world as well. Now, decades later, tensions reignite, magic fades, faith wanes, and the once-vital army of trained warriors grows restless and unchecked. Some begin to doubt if this "threat" ever existed at all.

Included Campaign: Behind the Barrier

Your party begins on what should have been a simple assignment but uncovers a dangerous truth: the same barrier meant to save Kaladar may now be its greatest threat. Will you protect it, or destroy it? Who truly benefits from its existence... or its fall?

From Passion to Play

Limitless was born from a decade of frustration with the limitations of existing RPG systems. As a veteran Gamemaster and storyteller, I wanted to create a game that gives players the tools to truly shape and feel a part of the narrative, while maintaining satisfying mechanical depth.

The point of Limitless is to remove the need think about opening a book mid game to seach for a soultion, provide a game easy for new players and gamemasters pick up, and for the mechanics to feel like a part of the story. I want you to walk away remembering storybook scenes rather than how you played a 3 hour long combat where you spent most of the time on your phone waiting for others to decide on their actions.

My goal wasn't to make another fantasy RPG - I wanted to create a framework for unforgettable collaborative storytelling. Limitless is the game I've always wanted to play!

— Brockman Zwick - Creator of Limtiless

Core Design Principles

  • Easy to Learn: Designed to be as easy to pick up as a board game. Perfect for new players and first-time GMs!

  • Depth When You Want It: Optional mechanics let you scale complexity to your table's taste—add depth when you're ready, skip it when you're not.

  • Mecanics that Inspire: Rules that inspire creative decisionmaking, rather than create boxes to fit in. Tools to build with, not limitations.

  • Player Power, Balanced Play: A resource system that empowers players to feel like main characters while keeping the game fair and grounded.

  • Collaborative, Turnless Combat: No more waiting around! Combat flows dynamically as players on both sides of the table build cinematic moments together, rather than one at a time.
